We have been having yet more fun with our little guy. We think he's the happiest baby on Earth! On August 16th he turned six months old, so we celebrated by trying solid foods for the first time. We started with rice cereal and will add some new things in every few days. For the past month or so he has been watching us eat and trying to grab our plates/bowls as we eat, and also has been very hungry lately, so we thought he might be ready to try. His pediatrician said to wait until he was closer to six months old to start solids since he was a preemie, so we followed her advice. So far he's doing well with the cereal, but more of it comes out than stays in! We will keep trying! He has enjoyed a couple of my apple cores and yesterday sucked some prune juice and mashed bananas off of my finger. Hopefully pretty soon we will get some veggies in this guy!
He is weighing in somewhere around 16 or 17 pounds now, which is hard to believe. He has started sitting up really well with support and is reaching and grabbing at everything in sight! He loves to smile and laugh, especially at me and Andy or when he is in his jumparoo. We are enjoying him so much. Andy is having so much more fun with him now that he is interactive and doesn't have to be attached to me all of the time!
